The discussion will highlight the strategic and governance model that positions cities as trusted intermediaries between citizens and private entities, while empowering partners such as tourism boards and event agencies to contribute and manage trusted content.

On a technical level, the session will detail the end-to-end process from data ingestion to application deployment, demonstrating how OpenTripPlanner, Pelias, and a Digitransit underpin a platform capable of real-time routing, multimodal transport integration, and rich point-of-interest data. Designed for easy replication in other cities, Explore.Community illustrates how municipalities can lead in equitable, open-source data ecosystems that drive innovation and public value.
