Imagining Tomorrow: Art, Technology, and Innovation for a Better City
SESSION DAY 2
In what ways can satellite data inform our understanding of the places we live in? In this talk, Michael presents an artistic exploration of urban development and environmental change, based on Copernicus Earth observation data. Focusing on the city of Linz, the project transforms raw satellite imagery into immersive, multisensory experiences, converting data into sound, movement, and emotion. By translating complex datasets into artistic expression, the work invites new perspectives on urban transformation, the impact of climate change, and collective responsibility. This approach combines data visualisation, creative storytelling, and speculative design to envision more sustainable urban futures.
