Ali Hainoun
Senior Scientist, AIT
Ali is a senior scientist at AIT's Centre for Energy with extensive experience in integrated energy systems analysis and sustainable energy development. He graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and received his PhD from Bochum University in nuclear and energy engineering. He has worked and consulted for renowned research institutions and international organizations, including the IAEA, FZJ, KIT, UNDP, and AIT. Since 2003, he has served as an “expert on mission” for the IAEA, advising worldwide over 15 countries on energy policy and capacity building in energy planning. He has a strong track record managing research projects and currently coordinates urban energy systems analysis group at AIT. His current research focuses on spatio-temporal energy systems modelling, decarbonization strategies for the clean energy transition, monitoring and evaluation of integrated energy solutions and positive energy districts (PEDs).
