City in Motion: A Bike Ride into Prague’s Smart Mobility Future
WORKSHOP DAY 1
Join us for a unique workshop that combines cycling with urban innovation. This guided ride through Prague will take you along a carefully designed route showcasing the city’s most exciting smart mobility projects. From the redevelopment of Masaryk Railway Station and the future airport rail link, through innovative cycling and passenger counting systems, to the new Štvanická pedestrian bridge and revitalized public spaces, you will experience how Prague integrates technology and design into its mobility infrastructure.
Along the way, Václav Novotný, an expert from IPR Prague, will introduce real-life applications such as cycling counters, passenger monitoring in public transport, and smart traffic light video detection. The ride highlights how data-driven solutions and infrastructure upgrades are shaping a safer, more sustainable, and more connected city. Whether you are a cycling enthusiast, a mobility professional, or simply curious about the future of smart cities, this workshop offers a hands-on journey into Prague’s living laboratory of innovation. This workshop is organized in collaboration with nextbike. Participants will need to have the nextbike app downloaded on their phones to join the ride. A promocode for bike rental will be provided.
